Sara Webb
Director 

Sara Webb plays an instrumental role as Director of Montessori Island School. She assists our faculty and assures that our school functions at its fullest potential. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology and has a Montana Secondary Certification in Biology. Ms. Sara taught as a secondary school teacher in the public school system for 5 years before moving to Livingston. Soon after moving to Livingston, she was introduced to the MIS community and found her true calling working as a Montessori teacher. She received her Montessori teaching certification through the Age of Montessori Training Center in 2014.

 

In her free time, Ms. Sara enjoys being with her family and spending time in nature. Her favorite hobbies are hiking, camping, and cross country skiing. 

 

Ms. Sara feels honored to work at MIS, and believes it is a privilege to watch children learn about the world in which they live.

Tom Baskett earned his Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Syracuse University with a minor in Arts. He went on to obtain his Montessori certification from the Caspari Montessori Institute and has taught at MIS since 2005. Mr. Tom is the father of three. He also is a faculty member with the Age of Montessori Institute in Bozmen, MT. He enjoys playing ice hockey to maintain both his health and sanity.

 

Mr. Tom works with children because his own kids have inspired him to, and because children, he says, “are the future citizens of the world and deserve developmental support.”

Water Lilies (ages 3-6)

Ruby Ensing obtained her Montessori certification from the Caspari Montessori Institute. She has taught at M.I.S. since 2008. She is married and is the mother of four children. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with her family.

 

Ruby says “I love teaching in a positive environment where children’s interests and learning abilities are supported. It is in this environment where a foundation is built in which children become independent, confident and life-long learners.”

Kaci earned her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She had also earned her Infant and Toddler Montessori certification through the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in January 2019.

 

Kaci enjoys listening to live music and playing her guitar and ukulele in her spare time. Kaci has a passion for respecting and nurturing the young child. She strives to provide an environment that sets each child up for success and enjoys witnessing the development process unfold in her learning environment. Her favorite quote from Maria Montessori is, "Don't look at me, look at the way I am pointing," meaning, the children are the way.

Water Lilies (ages 3-6)

Ms. Amber earned her Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from North Dakota State College of Science in 2010. She is currently working on her Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification from The Center for Guided Montessori Studies. Ms Amber has been with MIS for 5 years. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and being in the outdoors. She loves working with children because "their innocence and kindness have taught me to be a better person."

Sweet Peas (ages 2-3 yrs)

Greg earned his Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from Montana State University in 2018. He is a pround father of two young children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, gardening, reading and spending time with his family.

 

Greg plays an important role at MIS. He is the Assistant Director for the school, helping to run MIS, and he is the Lead Elementary Guide for ages 6-12.
