Toddler Program - The Sweet Peas

 

 

The Montessori Island School Toddler Program serves children from 2 to 3 years old. Our Toddler Program meets the child’s basic needs for attention, nourishment, play, and rest.  At the same time, it teaches the child valuable lessons in independence, which is in keeping with the Montessori philosophy: “Teach me to do it myself.”

 

Areas of study within the Toddler Program evolve from week to week, and emphasize such fundamentals as:

 

•  Cognitive/Language/Speech Development

• Exercises in Grace and Courtesy

• Practical Life

• Development of fine and gross motor skills

• Activities that promote independence

• Toilet independence

Our toddler classroom is a vibrant, dynamic and safe environment abundant in all-natural Montessori learning materials, sunlight, and comfortable spaces for eating, napping, and learning.  Our Toddler Program lays a strong foundation for children that enables them to thrive in a preschool setting and throughout a lifetime of educational pursuits.
